#2241 PTB *gliŋ GROUND / LAND / ISLAND

STC #128 groups Black Lahu mɨ̀‑gɨ̀ ‘land’ (cf. also Yellow Lahu mi²gɯ²) in this etymon but this is not plausible, since the rhyme *‑iŋ consistently becomes ‑ɛ in Black Lahu. The second syllable should rather be assigned to #596 PTB *m/s‑k‑rəy SKIN, so that the compound mɨ̀‑gɨ̀ actually means “earth-skin”.
